Sourdough Cheddar Cheese Crackers

Loving this new Sourdough Cracker recipe that we found. The crackers are like cheese it's, only better and you know exactly what ingredients go into them. Quite a tasty snack!

This sourdough recipe can be made without any wait time. Simply bring your discard to room temperature and then make the dough.

Sourdough Dutch Baby

Sourdough Saturday...time to use our discard. LOVE this recipe because there is no need to prep this Dutch Baby recipe the night before. Just have to let the discard reach room temperature (although I don't always to do) and let the mixture sit for 10 minutes after blended (although I don't always do that either). It does turn out a little lighter and airier if you do but it is still edible if you don't :)

I like to serve the Dutch Baby with some sliced strawberries and a dusting of powdered sugar. The kids then load on the syrup. It would be delicious topped with any fruit. If you would prefer to try the savory route, the recipe offers a slight variation in ingredients to accommodate the different flavors. Very versatile and absolutely delicious!

Sourdough Rolls

These Sourdough Rolls can be made in one day…no need for an overnight rise. You do need to plan some time for the dough to rise in between steps but the active time preparing these rolls is not an labor intensive as some sourdough recipes.

These smelled delicious as they were baking. They are best served warm. Any leftover rolls can be rewarmed prior to serving. If you are not a fan of sourdough (like my brother who did not love these rolls), these may not be your favorite rolls. They definitely have a sourdough flavor so if you like that sourdough, this recipe will be a winner for you.

Sourdough Naan

When I have a little more time to make a sourdough recipe, this Sourdough Naan is one recipe that my kids frequently request. They love to eat it warm, right out of the skillet.

We’ve made homemade pizza with the Naan as the crust. We’ve served strips of Naan alongside pasta. I’ve made it into cheesy garlic bread. Most recently, we topped it with chicken caesar salad and cut it up into quarters to eat like pizza slices. Except Kenxie, she didn’t want hers cut so she folded it up and ate it like a taco. I love the versatility!

Sourdough Brownies

These Sourdough Brownies may not look the nicest when they come out of the oven but they are a rich, tasty treat. A spoonful is all you need to satisfy that sweet tooth craving!

This recipe reminds me of a flourless chocolate cake. It has a fudge like taste and almost seems undercooked. The brownies are very dense and rich. They are the perfect brownie to pair with a scoop of ice cream.

Sourdough Banana Muffins

These Banana Muffins are loaded with dark chocolate chips. They are full of flavor and absolutely delicious. My kids loved them as much as I did!

I typically like a little added crunch so next time I make these muffins, I may add in some chopped walnuts to some of the muffins for a little variety.

Whole Wheat Crackers

These Sourdough Whole Wheat Crackers do take a bit of time to make but in my opinion, they are worth the effort. These crackers taste like freshly made Wheat Thins.

The recipe does make a decent amount of crackers…although I did eat A LOT before they even made it into the container. All of the smaller edge pieces were calling my name and just had to be eaten 🙂

Sourdough Cinnamon Muffins

These Sourdough Cinnamon Muffins are going to be a great addition to our sourdough rotation. They are quick and easy to make for a grab and go breakfast or a snack. They aren’t overly sweet which makes them a keeper for our family.

In the future, I may play around with this recipe a bit. I think these muffins would taste wonderful with some added apples, possibly some nuts as well to give it them little crunch. After we make them a few times, I’m sure we’ll come up with some new ways to mix them up a bit. It’s great as it but a little variety is always fun too!

Sourdough English Muffins

The Sourdough English Muffins are sooo yummy served warm, right off the griddle. We like them with a little bit on honey on them…sometimes Xander eats them with jam instead. If you don’t eat them all in one sitting, warm them slightly before eating the leftovers.

After making these English Muffins, plan to eat them within a few days. I’ll make them for a big breakfast and then we’ll have the leftovers for snacks the next few days. They don’t keep much longer than that but they are so good, they are definitely worth making.

Sourdough Pretzel Bites

Sourdough Pretzel Bites
This week for Sourdough Saturday, we made No Knead Sourdough Bread but had some extra discard leftover. We searched for a new sourdough recipe to try and found these Sourdough Pretzel Bites and decided to give them a try.

Making the dough was not hard. It was as easy as pouring ingredients in the mixer, turning on the mixer, and walking away. About 5 minutes later, the dough was ready to be covered and sit overnight. I should have added more flour to my dough at this point (my discard must have been a little thinner than the original recipe was made with). The dough was pulling away from the side of the bowl but was not quite forming a dough ball.

Sourdough Zucchini Muffins

Sourdough Zucchini Muffins
These Sourdough Zucchini Muffins are a quick and tasty way to use up your sourdough discard for the week. My kids enjoy them for breakfast or grab them for a quick snack after school. They do prefer them with chocolate chips so those are a regular addition for us.

Sourdough Scones

Sourdough Scones
If you have sourdough starter, you HAVE to give this Sourdough Scones recipe a try. These scones are delicious! They aren’t too sweet and have a subtle sourdough flavor. We chose to add dried cranberries (but doubled the amount called for in the recipe). We have more cranberries to use the next time we make them. Once we’re out of cranberries, I think we’ll give dried blueberries a try🫐

Sourdough Blueberry Mini Muffins

Sourdough Blueberry Mini Muffins

Kenxie tackled these Sourdough Blueberry Mini Muffins by herself. We usually only get one sourdough recipe a week out of our sourdough starter but this week we had a bit more leftover so…our tummies benefited 🙂

Lemon Sourdough Cake

Super simple and delicious Lemon Sourdough Cake. I love that this cake isn’t overly sweet. It has a bit of a doughy texture yet it’s light and airy. Our whole family likes it and struggles with stopping after just one piece. It makes a 9×13 pan but it doesn’t last long in our house…a few days max and it’s already devoured.

No Knead Sourdough Bread

No Knead Sourdough Bread

Looking for that perfect bread recipe to serve with dinner? This no knead sourdough bread recipe may become your new go to favorite! Since there is no kneading required and it requires very little effort. However, it does require some planning as the dough needs to be made the day before you plan to bake it.

The first thing you will need for this recipe is sourdough discard. I have a jar of sourdough starter that lives in my fridge (thank you Janinne). If you don’t have any YET, follow the directions here to make your own. Each week I take it out, make a new recipe, feed it, and put it back in the fridge to grow. We have “Sourdough Saturdays” so I remember to make a recipe using the discard each week 🙂

Sourdough Coffee Cake

We have “Sourdough Saturdays” at our house thanks to my friend, Janinne, who shared some of her sourdough starter with us. It lives and grows in our fridge all week long and then we decide which recipe we’ll make each week to use the discard. This week we chose to make a Sourdough Coffee Cake recipe. After we make the recipe, we feed it (flour and water) and back into the fridge it goes…until the next Saturday.

This week, the kids requested Coffee Cake and settled on this cinnamon flavored pan of yumminess. It’s an easy recipe that can be whipped up quickly. Pretty standard pantry ingredients too so no need to make an extra trip to the grocery store for specific ingredients. Kenxie joined me in making the coffee cake tonight.
