I typically like a little added crunch so next time I make these muffins, I may add in some chopped walnuts to some of the muffins for a little variety.
If you don’t yet have any Sourdough Starter, follow the directions here to make your own. We have Sourdough Saturdays at our house so once a week, we make a new sourdough recipe. Sometimes we even have enough sourdough to make two recipes…bonus!
Substitutions/Additions made by Cooking After Class for Sourdough Banana Muffins:
- I followed all directions as written but I didn’t use organic or grass fed ingredients.
Tips from Cooking After Class for making Sourdough Banana Muffins:
- I made muffins instead of bread as called for in the recipe. My kids prefer the grab and go muffins rather than stopping to cut themselves a slice of bread. Bake for 20 minutes if making muffins.
- In addition to adding chocolate chips throughout the batter, I also added a few to the top of each muffin so they look pretty 🙂
Use Trudeau Silicone Muffin Pans so you don’t need to butter/grease the pan. The muffins always lift out so cleanly!
