Chicken with Tomato Cream Sauce
This recipe surprised me! I thought it would be just another chicken recipe that was ok but it was packed with flavor. This chicken with tomato cream sauce is a definite keeper for our family!

I chose to serve this dish over pasta. The sauce was a lot thicker than I expected so I thinned it with some pasta water…worked perfectly! The consistency was exactly what I was looking for and it still had a ton of flavor.

I did try to make the recipe a bit healthier by subbing half the cream for skim milk. I didn’t miss the cream or extra richness at all. It was tasty just the way it was.

Substitutions/Additions for Chicken with Tomato Cream Sauce:

  • substituted sweet onions for shallots
  • instead of 1/2 cup heavy cream, I used 1/4 cup cream and 1/4 cup skim milk
  • added some pasta water (about 1/4 cup) for a thinner sauce to serve over pasta

Tips for making Chicken with Tomato Cream Sauce:

  • make with a side of veggies (if I make it again, I may even add some spinach to the sauce)
