Crock Pot Italian Sausage Dinner

Italian Sausage Dinner
My kids are not crazy about crock pot meals but let’s face it, sometimes they are a necessity. This Italian Sausage dinner is an easy option because not only can it be prepared in a matter of minutes in the morning, there is nothing that has to be done in the evening to get it ready to serve. As soon as you’re ready to eat, you spoon out some green beans, grab a sausage link or two, and add a few potatoes to your plate and dinner is served.

Each time I make this (yes I’ve made it multiple times), the beans are the first to go. They do cook down in the crock pot but they really are a tasty addition to this meal. I think the next time I make this meal, I made add 2 pounds of frozen beans instead of only 1. Who doesn’t like a few extra veggies?!?

My crock pot is a lifesaver. Even on those days when I can’t possibly find the time to make dinner, I can usually set my alarm for a little earlier to put together a crock pot meal in the morning. For this recipe, the prep is about 10 minutes max. Very doable even for those of us that love our sleep! If you’re looking to invest in a new crockpot, be sure to get one with a digital timer. This prevents your food from overcooking but still being warm (that’s to the keep warm setting) when you arrive home from work.

I’ve actually made this meal when we’ve been out camping ðŸĪŠ There are so few ingredients to bring along and at the end of a long day, you have a delicious meal ready to serve. Yes…I bring a crock pot camping (sometimes) and a griddle too (always). May not be everyone’s idea of camping but it works for me 😁

Substitutions/Additions made by Cooking After Class for Italian Sausage Dinner:

  • I used a mixture of baby red and yellow potatoes because that’s what Aldi had this week 🙂

Tips from Cooking After Class for making Italian Sausage Dinner:

  • I typically do not add the sausage links, onions, and seasoning to a bag to shake up. I just add the links to the crock pot, sprinkle on the seasoning, and pour the onions on top.
